The Fritillary family of Butterflies (Nymphalidae)

These are the Fritillary family of Butterflies that Lorraine and I have recorded so far in either our Garden or the bank at the back of the garden since late July 2000 as well as the Marsh Fritillary I saw in the Algarve several years ago. Click on the thumbnail images below to view a larger image of each butterfly.

Lorraine and I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures - even though they are probably not the best ever taken of Butterflies! If you are an expert on Butterflies and any of the pictures show a different Butterfly than we have labeled it then do please email us with the details. Similarly if you come across any web sites on Butterflies then let us have the URL and we will link to the sites.
