Isabella Butlin(g) was christened in Coln St Dennis, Gloucestershire on 12th March 1812, the daughter of Luana/Suanah Butlin(g). .  She married on 5th November 1832 at Coln St Dennis,  Charles SMITH.  In 1851 Charles was 40 and an Ag Lab; he was 53 in 1861 and 62 in 1871, his occupation is shown now as a Carpenter; by 1881 they were at Colcutt, Coln St Dennis; and his age is now given as 74.  Isabella was aged 39 in 1851, 48 in 1861 and 61 in 1871, by 1881 she was 72.  In 1871 they had a domestic servant with them (unless this was another daughter) her name was Sarah and was born in Northleach, Gloucestershire.

1.  Richard SMITH born approx 1838 at Coln St Dennis.  Aged 13 in 1851 and an Ag Lab; by 1861 he was aged 23.  Nothing shown about him in later censuses.
2.  Frederick SMITH born approx 1840 at Coln St Dennis.  Age 11 in 1851 and an Ag Lab; believe he got married (but censuses show different birth places).
3.  James Charles SMITH born approx 1843 at Coln St Dennis.  Aged 8 in 1851 and a Scholar; by 1861 he is aged 17.         (see below)
4.  Hannah SMITH born 1846 at Coln St Dennis.  Aged 5 in 1851,  a scholar; and aged 15 in 1861.
5.  Rosetta/Roseanna  SMITH born 1849 at Coln St Dennis.  Aged 2 in 1851 and aged 12 in 1861.
6.  Mary SMITH born 1853 at Coln St Dennis.  Aged 8 in 1861 and a Scholar.  In 1881 I believe that Mary was an unmarried servant aged 27, to Joshua Brown a retired Wine Merchant and his sisters at Bartonbury, Cirencester.
7.  Jane SMITH born 1857 at Coln Rogers.  Aged 4 in 1861 and a Scholar.

In 1871 Isabella and Charles  have living with them, their grand-daughter Mary SMITH aged 2 months, born at Coln St Dennis.  In 1881 Mary is now aged 9 and still living with her grand-parents.  Also with them is another grand-daughter Johanna SMITH born in Coln St Dennis aged 6 (so born around 1874).

James Charles SMITH (son of Isabella and Charles) aged 27 in 1871,  married Alice WHEELER (see WHEELER file), Alice was aged 27 in 1871 and was born in Cerney Wick.  James in 1881 aged 37, living at Foss Bridgehill, Chedworth, his occupation was a Carpenter.  Alice was aged 37 in 1881; and now classed as being born in South Cerney.

1.  James SMITH born approx 1870 in Coln St Dennis.   Aged 6 months in 1871, died before 1878.
2.  Thomas SMITH born 1869 in Coln St Dennis, aged 2 in 1871.  By 1881 he is aged 12 a Farm Labourer.
3.  Charles SMITH born 1871 in Coln St Dennis, aged 10 in 1881.  A Scholar.
4.  Myra SMITH born 1873 in Coln St Dennis, aged 8 in 1881, and a scholar.
5.  James SMITH born 1878 in Chedworth, aged 3 in 1881.
