I have been studying this line, as, although we cannot find a connection to the Lincolnshire branch, in one of the files that was sent to me, it showed that the Lincolnshire branch were connected to the main branch via Cornelius Babington of the Derbyshire Babingtons. However, with research of the Lincolnshire branch, back to the 17th century, I have found no connection to these other Babingtons, at all. My information is back to Christopher Babington of Benniworth, Lincs; and there I am stuck.
I have been studying this line, and correcting in part the College of Arms data which showed the ‘definitive’ Babington history. With other researchers help, I have found ancestors who were not mentioned in the data, marrying into ANNESLEY, WILLOUGHBY, families etc.
I am also researching the history of the ‘infamous’ Anthony BABINGTON, he of the Queen Elizabeth I plot, and his family, and after his execution, his wifes (nee DRAYCOTT) marriage into the FOLJAMBE family.
The Leicestershire BABINGTONs of Rothley have been most interesting to research, their ‘house’ now being a hotel and restaurant.
