This lineage is part of my step-fathers line and I have only recently started working on it.
The information I know so far is that the COCKCROFTs and the BUTTERWORTHs are buried in the same grave in Todmorden, Lancashire. Alongside William COCKCROFT is his wife Mary, their daughter Elizabeth and her husband William, also Elizabeth and William's daughter Mary and Belle PURCELL who died in 1909, Mary's grand-daughter. Along with them are buried John Cockcroft GREENWOOD, Thomas Greenwood COCKCROFT who died 1864 aged 12 and 'young' John (surname unknown' who died aged 46, no dates given.
This is what I have to date.
WILLIAM COCKCROFT* was born in 1804, and died in 1880 aged 76 years.
He married Mary ? born 1806 died 1874, aged 68 years.
