My great grandmother (Minnie LAWSON)'s brother Harry (who I mention in the LAWSON page), married Rose Hannah PENNYFATHER. We have an albumn of this family but we don't know who is who as none of the pictures have been written on, (though we have worked out which ones are Rose).
We are unsure, but we may have found John Pennyfather (Rose Hannah's grandfather), siblings and parents, but this has yet to be confirmed. However, there are many similarities ie a sister called Rose Hannah, but this has yet to be verified. Anyway, this is the info as we think it stands:
Edward PENNYFATHER married Hannah HULKS on 17th February 1816 at St Martin in the Fields, Westminster, London.
They had the following children (we believe):
John PENNYFATHER christened 1st October 1816 in Welwyn, Herts (could
this be our John?)
Edward PENNYFATHER christened 20th January 1819 in Knebworth, Herts.
William PENNYFATHER born 20th September 1820 in Knebworth, Herts;
christened 1st October 1820 in Welwyn, Herts.
Rose Hannah PENNYFATHER christened 19th September 1823 in Coldicote,
Herts. (is this who our Rose Hannah is named after?)
Harriet Mary PENNYFATHER christened 10th May 1829 in Tewin, Herts.
This is what I have so far (confirmed) on Rose Hannah's PENNYFATHERs lineage. (A pre sae is shown at the bottom of this page.)
John PENNYFATHER (Rose Hannah's grandfather) was born in Hertford(shire) (place name given as Nelsr?…Gr…? (unknown)) born approx 1817, (is he the John mentioned above?) was aged 64 in 1881, a Butcher by profession. He married Lydia, born approx 1819 in Enfield, Middlesex; in around 1839, she is aged 62 in 1881 a Butcher’s wife. In 1881 they are living in Market Place, Enfield. Along with one of their children, they have 2 lodgers living with them.

v) Emily Pennyfather christened 1850 at St Andrews, Enfield,

vi) Mary Pennyfather christened 14th December 1856 at St Andrews,
Enfield, Middlesex.
vii) Lydia Pennyfather christened 2nd July 1858 at St Andrews,
Enfield, Middlesex.
viii) Charles Pennyfather christened 22nd June 1860 at St
Andrews, Enfield, Middlesex. In 1881 he is the only child still at
home, he is aged 21, classed as married, though I can find no information
on his wife. His occupation is given as Inn Waiter.
George Edward PENNYFATHER (see above) christened in Enfield, Middlesex in 1845, son of John and Lydia, married before 1866 to Ellen ? born approx 1848 also in Enfield, Middlesex. In 1881 they are living at 63 Cartland Road, Aston, Birmingham. George was a Gunmaker Filer.

Middlesex. Not shown in 1881 census.

Age 11 in 1881 and a scholar.
iv) Lydia Pennyfather born approx 1871 in Enfield, Middlesex.
Age 10 in 1881 and a scholar.
v) Clara Pennyfather born approx 1875 in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
Age 6 in 1881 and a scholar.
vi) Ellen Pennyfather born approx 1876 in Moseley, Worcestershire.
